Updated from original post with additional information from the official press release and updated guest details from the Midsummer Scream website.

Though they had a few technical difficulties when the tickets first went on sale, the kinks have since been worked out and you can now purchase tickets to Midsummer Scream.

Taking place on August 3 and 4, 2019, this year’s Midsummer Scream is expected to be the largest yet, taking over the entire Long Beach Convention Center, and expected to draw over 30,000 fans. For a limited time, General Admission tickets are available at 40% off making weekend passes just $33! Single day passes are also available at a discount with Saturday tickets for $22.80 and Sunday tickets for $19.80.

The Gold Bat Pass option is also back for 2019, but unfortunately is not available at a discounted rate. Gold Bat Passes are $95 and include weekend admission, early entry, priority access to panels and presentations, front of line access to select attractions in the Hall of Shadows, and more.

As a bonus, every ticket to Midsummer Scream also includes a free 30-day subscription to Shudder, the on demand horror streaming service.

Early Details On This Year’s Event

As in year’s past Midsummer Scream will kick off the Halloween season with the help of Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights, Knott’s Scary Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Fright Fest, and Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor.

2019 will host an expanded showfloor with over 300 vendors expected to attend, a children’s activity area, and a wide variety of live entertainment performances. Midsummer Scream’s show floor has doubled in size, featuring unique artwork, props, Halloween accessories, clothing, and makeup supplies. Always keeping guest comfort in mind, Midsummer Scream has again widened the show floor aisles for easier traffic circulation as fans visit their favorite vendors such as Trick or Treat Studios, Kreepsville 666, Bearded Lady’s Mystic Museum, Edyn Rashae Studios, and Dark Delicacies. Among the horrific hustle and bustle on the show floor, fans will also find Midsummer newcomers Madame Tussauds, Crypt TV, and Bloody Mary: Makeup to Die For.

The enormous dark zone, Hall of Shadows, will showcase over a dozen haunted attractions and displays, live stage entertainment, and daily exhibitions by the Decayed Brigade slider team. Guests will enter Hall of Shadows through a foreboding jungle experience created by CalHauntS, and enter the world of “Tiki Terror”, a vendor market featuring a world-class lineup of tiki personalities and manufacturers, including the legendary Tom “Thor” Thordarson, Munktiki mugs and ceramic oddities, and artist Jeff Granito.

On Saturday night, Midsummer Scream will again host Midsummer Scream After Dark, a separately ticketed event that includes a costume contest, special screening and other to be announced special events. Pre-sale tickets to the event are just $15 and can be purchased along with your Midsummer Scream tickets.

New for 2019

Though details are still slim for 2019, Midsummer Scream has teased two new experiences for this year’s show:

  • Tiki Terror – A tiki-themed marketplace, and a foreboding jungle experience created by CalHauntS.
  • Dr. Zomba’s Ghost Show of Terror – A vintage-style spook show coming to the Theatre Macabre

Special Guests

If you followed All Hallows Geek last year during Midsummer Scream, you’ll know that one of the highlights for me was watching Kimberly J. Brown from the Halloweentown movies wearing a witches hat reading a Halloween story to kids. Seriously, it was the most Halloween thing I have ever experienced.

Which is why I was excited to see that she was returning for 2019 and bringing her boyfriend and fellow Halloweentown actor Daniel Kountz, who played Kal in Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge, with her.

You can pre-purchase tickets for a Photo-op with Kimberly J. Brown when you buy your tickets as an add on for $50, or get a photo with both Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz for $75.

Cassandra Peterson, aka Elvira Mistress of the Dark is also returning for 2019 and fans will have the chance to meet her in a curated multi-vendor boutique devoted to all things Elvira.

Photos with Cassandra Peterson will cost $70 and can also be pre-purchased when you buy your tickets to Midsummer Scream online.

Fans of A Nightmare On Elm Street 3 will also be excited to know that during this year’s Midsummer Scream you’ll be able to meet the Dream Warriors. The Dream Warriors were, of course, a ragtag group of teens in a psychiatric ward who team up to take on Freddy Krueger. During Midsummer Scream 2019, fans will have the chance to meet some of the Dream Warriors themselves including actors Ken Sagoes, Jennifer Rubin, Ira Heiden, and Penelope Sudrow.

Finally, Midsummer Scream will again be partnering with Kitten Rescue Los Angeles to present the Black Cat Lounge, where guests can mix and mingle with some feline friends as they roam freely through a decorated play space. The Black Cat Lounge gives guests looking to adopt a pet the perfect opportunity to bond with their new little friends and give them forever homes.

Tickets are on sale at MidsummerScream.org. More news and information regarding Midsummer Scream 2019 will be announced in the weeks and months ahead.
