Mike Flanagan’s ‘Hush’ Coming to Theaters for the First Time Later This Month

Shout! Studios, in collaboration with Mike Flanagan, Intrepid Pictures, and Blumhouse, have announced that the 2016 horror film “Hush” will have a special one-night theatrical engagement in the U.S. on October 16.

“Hush” debuted at SXSW in 2016 before heading to Netflix, where it lived exclusively until 2023. For its cinema debut, the film has been fully restored and approved by Flanagan. Additionally, the event screening will feature a live Q&A with filmmaker Mike Flanagan and the film’s co-writer and star Kate Siegel. The live Q&A, featuring Flanagan and Siegel, will be held at Vidiots in Eagle Rock, California, immediately after the screening and will be live-streamed to select theaters nationwide.

Directed by Flanagan, “Hush” stars Kate Siegel (“The Haunting of Hill House”) as a deaf writer who has retreated into the woods to live a solitary life. Her peaceful existence is shattered when a masked killer appears outside her window. Unable to hear the danger approaching, she must rely on her wits and limited resources to survive the terrifying ordeal.

John Gallagher Jr. (“The Newsroom”), Samantha Sloyan (“Midnight Mass”), and Michael Trucco (“Battlestar Galactica”) round out the film’s cast.

“Hush” will play in select theaters on October 16, 2024, at 6:30 PM PT (9:30 PM ET). Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online or at participating cinema box offices.

Shout! Studios also recently brought “Hush” to Digital and will release it on 4K UHD in November.
