“Riverdale” and “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” have found great success by taking classic comic book and animated characters and plunging them into a modern, real-life environment. Now, director Dante Yore and the cast of a new project titled “Mystery Incorporated” hope to do the same thing with the characters from “Scooby-Doo Where Are You?”
Currently seeking funding for a pilot through Indiegogo, “Mystery Incorporated” is a fresh new take on the characters from Hanna-Barbera’s “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?” and stars Dade Elza, Jessica Chancellor, Chris Villain, and Dayeanne Hutton.
Set in the small town of Coolsville, OH, Fred Jones has just lost his parents by what he believes were supernatural forces. Determined to avenge their deaths and uncover the truth, he’ll cross paths and ultimately team up with Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby, all of which are much more complex, layered characters in this modern adaptation.
If funded, “Mystery Incorporated” will be turned into an hour-long pilot with the hope that it will act as the foundation to build an entire 10 episode season upon.
At the time of this writing, “Mystery Incorporated” had raised $6,960 of its $15,000 goal. In exchange for donations the production is offering a variety of rewards ranging from exclusive digital and physical content to invitations to the premiere and set.
