Late last October, as part of its 31 Nights of Fright product reveal event, NECA announced Leonardo as The Hunchback as the second figure in its Universal Monsters x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line. On Tuesday, the toymaker released further details around the figure, including new images and a release window for the figure.
The latest figure to pay tribute to Universal’s horror icons depicts Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Leonardo as The Hunchback Ygor, faithful assistant to the great Dr. Frankenstein. The figure comes equipped with several accessories, including a brain in a jar, two katanas, interchangeable hands, shovels, bone, skull, and flame effects that attach to the katanas to form torches. The Hunchback’s massive shell even opens to store some of the accessories.
The new figure is scheduled to begin shipping in May of this year and will come packaged in a collector-friendly window box packaging with an opening flap featuring a custom illustration. The figure is available for pre-order now through Entertainment Earth or wherever you buy NECA toys.
NECA kicked off its new line of Universal Monsters x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles last October with the announcement of Raphael as Frankenstein’s Monster. The collection pays tribute to the world’s most famous turtles and Universal’s icons of horror. Additional figures are expected to be released throughout 2022.
