When director Rob Zombie announced that he’d be bringing the obscure character Zombo from the original “The Munsters” sitcom to his film adaptation, it made headlines. Now, Zombie has announced that Zombo is getting his own action figure courtesy of NECA.
For those unfamiliar, Zombo was a one-off character that appeared in a single episode of “The Munsters” television series back in 1966. Played by the late Louis Nye, Zombo was a TV horror host who Eddie Munster took an interest in, sparking jealousy from his father, Herman. Zombie is resurrecting the character for his film adaptation of “The Munsters,” which is expected to be released later this year, and it’s his version of Zombo, which is getting an official action figure.
The Zombo action figure is being released as a San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) exclusive and will be available only at the NECA booth during the event, which is taking place July 20-24. The figure comes packaged in a Crumble Creature Crackers box, inspired by the fictitious product, which sponsored the “House of Zombo” television series in the original show.
The figure comes outfitted in a cloak adorned with mystical symbols and moons and comes with a witch hat and Crumble Creature Cracker box accessories. Check out the images of the figure shared by Zombie on Instagram below:
