On Monday, as part of its ongoing 12 Days of Downloads releases, NECA debuted a new visual guide for its Classic Monsters Collection. The extra-large guide showcases what’s been released thus far and some of what is to come in NECA’s Classic Monsters lineup. While some of the upcoming releases are featured, including the Ultimate Invisible Man and the recently announced Phantom of the Opera Ultimate figure, four more classic monsters also appear on the poster that hadn’t yet been announced: The Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Bride of Frankenstein, Nosferatu, and Professor Burke from the 1927 Universal silent horror film “London After Midnight.”
Based on the visual guide, it appears that The Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Bride of Frankenstein, and Nosferatu will all get color and black and white releases. It seems that The Phantom of the Opera and Professor Burke may only be getting color releases, or their black-and-white variants aren’t yet confirmed.
The visual guide also confirms my assumptions about the black-and-white release of NECA’s Dracula figure. The figure is not a straight black-and-white variant and is instead referred to as a “Carfax Abbey” variant, which explains the figure’s differing appearance and varying accessories.
No further details on any of the newly unveiled figures were announced, but based on social media posts sharing the digital download, we can expect the four newly unveiled figures to arrive sometime in 2023, along with the Carfax Abbey variant of Dracula, and black and white variants of the Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Bride of Frankenstein, and Nosferatu. You can download a high-resolution version of the Classic Monsters Action Figure Visual Guide from the NECA website.
