Last year, Netflix kicked off the Halloween season with “Netflix and Chills,” a suggested lineup of spooky content worth watching on the streaming service during Halloween season. Last week Netflix released their latest “Netflix and Chills” lineup featuring some of their recommended creepy content for 2019.
Leading this year’s lineup are five new Netflix Originals:
- In the Shadow of the Moon (September 27) – In 1988, Philadelphia police officer Thomas Lockhart (Boyd Holbrook), hungry to become a detective, begins tracking a serial killer who mysteriously resurfaces every nine years. But when the killer’s crimes begin to defy all scientific explanation, Locke’s obsession with finding the truth threatens to destroy his career, his family, and possibly his sanity.
- In The Tall Grass (October 4) – When siblings Becky and Cal hear the cries of a young boy lost within a field of tall grass, they venture in to rescue him, only to become ensnared themselves by a sinister force that quickly disorients and separates them. Cut off from the world and unable to escape the field’s tightening grip, they soon discover that the only thing worse than getting lost is being found.
- Fractured (October 11) – Driving cross-country, Ray and his wife and daughter stop at a highway rest area where his daughter falls and breaks her arm. After a frantic rush to the hospital and a clash with the check-in nurse, Ray is finally able to get her to a doctor. While the wife and daughter go downstairs for an MRI, Ray, exhausted, passes out in a chair in the lobby. Upon waking up, they have no record or knowledge of Ray’s family ever being checked in.
- Eli (October 18) – A boy receiving treatment for his auto-immune disorder discovers that the house he’s living isn’t as safe as he thought.
- Rattlesnake (October 25) – When a single mother accepts the help of a mysterious woman after her daughter is bitten by a rattlesnake, she finds herself making an unthinkable deal with the devil to repay the stranger.
Other highlights coming to the streaming service in October include Scream 2 (Oct. 1), A.M.I. (Oct. 1) and Sinister 2 (Oct. 18). You can see the full horror lineup teased by Netflix below and you can browse Netflix’s full “Netflix and Chills” recommendations at netflix.com/netflixandchills.
