Its been two years since Netflix first announced their plans for a The Dark Crystal prequel series, but today we finally got a premiere date and the first look at some images of the series.
“The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance” will premiere on Friday, August 30 with 10 episodes. The series will tell the story of three Gelflings — voiced by Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy and Nathalie Emmanuel — who after uncovering the source of the Skeksis’ power will set out on a journey to start a rebellion and save their world.
Like the original film, the series is made up of a cast of puppets created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop™ and Brian Froud. Based on the below images, which were released today, the new state-of-the-art creatures look stunning.
