Netflix kicked off day three of Geeked Week, the weeklong celebration of all things genre on Netflix, by debuting an all-new trailer for the “Fear Street” trilogy.
The new trilogy, adapted from R.L. Stine’s best-selling horror series, tells the story of a group of teenagers who discover that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected — and that they may be the next targets. The trilogy follows the nightmare through Shadyside’s sinister history, which spans three centuries.
The new trailer gives us a further look into the events of the trilogy and the origins of the supposed curse that has plagued the town. The trailer also suggests a longtime rivalry between Shadyside and the town of Sunnyvale, which one camp counselor in the trailer likens to “good versus evil,” could also have some ties to the town’s problems. One thing is clear from the trailer, the Shadyside kids from 1994 aren’t going down without a fight.
Netflix will release the three “Fear Street” films, “Fear Street: 1994,” “Fear Street: 1978,” and “Fear Street: 1666,” over the course of three weeks starting on July 2.
