Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” concluded last December with its fourth and final season, but series writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa isn’t done with Sabrina, and the Netflix adaptation of his popular comic book series just yet. On Wednesday, Archie Comics announced that Aguirre-Sacasa will be continuing the series in comic book form and will also be resuming his work on the “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” comic book series with the release of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #9.”
The new comic book series “The Occult World of Sabrina” will launch later this year and picks up where the final episode of Netflix’s television adaptation of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” left off. The new series will feature art by Audrey Mok (“Archie,” Josie & The Pussycats”) and will include the characters and storylines from the “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” television series on which Aguirre-Sacasa served as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. “The Occult World of Sabrina” brings back Sabrina, Nick, Harvey, and the rest of the Fright Club for the first story-arc, “A World Without Sabrina.”
But the Netflix world of Sabrina isn’t the only world Aguirre-Sacasa is returning to. The “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” creator will reunite with original series artist Robert Hack to continue the best-selling comic book series that started it all with “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #9.” Issue nine will resume the “Witch War” storyline, pitting Spellman against Spellman and the dead versus the living.
Sabrina has brought Harvey’s body back to life (along with her father’s soul). But there is a cost to everything. Unless she wants the Gates of Hell to open, Sabrina must find a person to sacrifice in Harvey’s place. But wait…Sabrina would never kill someone, would she?
The 32-page return of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” will hit comic shops on October 13, 2021, or you can pre-order yours now from Archie Comics or your favorite local comic shop.
The return of Sabrina Spellman to the Archie Horror imprint will commemorate the 60the anniversary of the Archie Comics character.
