Netflix has announced a sequel to their horror-comedy The Babysitter and they’re bringing back the original cast and director to make it.
Released in 2017, The Babysitter was directed by McG and stars Samara Weaving (Ready Or Not) who plays a babysitter with a deadly secret. When a group of friends played by Bella Thorne (Amityville: The Awakening), Robbie Amell (The Flash), Hana Mae Lee (Pitch Perfect), and Andrew Bachelor (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before) join her to carry out a satanic ritual at the home where she is babysitting their secret is soon discovered when the boy she was hired to babysit, played by Judah Lewis (The Christmas Chronicles), witnesses the deadly ritual. Once found out, the group will stop at nothing to prevent the secret from getting out. SPOILERS: In the end, he defeats the satanic cult.
The sequel picks up two years later as Lewis’ character is trying to move on with his life and survive high school, but when old enemies unexpectedly return, he’ll once again have to outsmart the forces of evil.
I enjoyed the first film and they did a good job at leaving it open for a sequel, so I’ll be curious to see where this story goes. If you haven’t seen it yet I’d highly recommend giving it a watch over on Netflix.
