Netflix’s “Wednesday” and Ghostface from the “Scream” franchise are the latest licenses to get the Chia Pet treatment. Arriving in time for the Halloween season, Wednesday, Thing, and Ghostface are the latest horror icons to become one of the long-standing novelty gifts.
Wednesday Addams Chia Pet
Inspired by the botany class scene in “Wednesday,” the Wednesday Addams Chia Pet features Wednesday staring at a Nevermore Academy planter featuring the Black Dahlia flower sprouting out of the middle. Unlike many Chia Pets, where the grown chia acts as hair, the chia seeds for the Wednesday Chia Pet are applied around the Black Dahlia flower to fill in the planter.
The Wednesday Addams Chia Pet is available for pre-order now from Entertainment Earth for $19.99.
Thing Chia Pet
Also available from Netflix’s “Wednesday” is Thing the Addams’ disembodied hand that arrives at Nevermore Academy to watch over Wednesday at the direction of her parents. Like Wednesday, the Chia seeds are not meant to adorn Thing but instead fill in the ground he is perched upon.
The Thing Chia Pet is available for pre-order now from Entertainment Earth for $19.99.
Ghostface Chia Pet
Rounding out the new horror Chia Pet reveals is Ghostface from the “Scream” franchise. Interestingly, while Wednesday and Thing avoided having chia “hair” added to the characters, Ghostface is getting the more traditional treatment and, once fully grown, will look more like something out of the “Scary Movie” franchise thanks to his massive green afro-like chia growth.
The Ghostface Chia Pet is available for pre-order now from Entertainment Earth for $19.99.
