Since 2018, the “Stranger Things” universe has expanded with the help of a series of comic books from Dark Horse Comics. Over the last three years, “Stranger Things,” “Stranger Things: Six,” “Stranger Things: Science Camp,” and “Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons,” along with a handful of one-shots have helped fill some of the gaps, or add color to the events around the Netflix Original Series. This week, we learned that another series is in the works, which will take the “Stranger Things Kids” on a Goonies-style adventure.
The new comic series, “Stranger Things: Tomb of Ybwen,” will take place following the events of season two of “Stranger Things” and the death of Bob Newby. (Who was played in the show by Sean Astin, AND WAS IN GOONIES!)
It’s January 1985 the Hawkins crew survived their battle with the mind flayer, but Will and Joyce are still reeling from the recent death of Bob Newby. Will’s friends have been too busy with their girlfriends to notice how much he is struggling. After he and Mr. Clarke discover a mysterious map Bob left in a box of old nerdy memorabilia, Will rallies the crew to investigate.
Is there a secret hidden in the hills of Hawkins?
The four-part series will debut with issue #1 on September 29, 2021. Check out a couple of the covers that have been unveiled by PREVIEWSworld below:
