Nickelodeon Shares First Glimpse at ‘Monster High: The Movie’

Monster High - The Movie -

Last year it was announced that Nickelodeon and Mattel were teaming up to release a live-action Monster High movie. This week, Nickelodeon gave us our first taste of the new film via a quick teaser introducing us to some of Monster High’s most notorious students.

The first tease from the movie gives us clear glimpses at the characters Clawdeen Wolf, Frankie Stein, Draculaura, and what appears to be Deuce Gorgon. The teaser also features flashes of what look to be other popular Monster High characters, such as Cleo de Nile.

The latest take on Monster High will be a television movie musical that’s coming both to Nickelodeon as well as Paramount Plus this fall. And while I don’t want to draw comparisons, this tease definitely gave me similar vibes to some of the Disney Channel teen “monster” movies we’ve seen in recent years like “Descendants” and “Zombies.”

It appears that Nickelodeon has released at least two versions of the teaser. Both versions feature the same visual elements but different voiceovers (which is how I was able to deduce that the male character is likely Deuce Gorgon). Check them out below:

“Monster High: The Movie” marks the first time Monster High will be brought to life in live-action. Directed and executive produced by Todd Holland, “Monster High: The Movie” follows Clawdeen Wolf, who was born half human and half werewolf, after she arrives at her new school, Monster High. She quickly makes friends with her classmates Frankie Stein and Draculaura, and for the first time in her life, Clawdeen feels like she has finally found a place where she fits in and can truly be herself, despite keeping her human half a secret. When a devious plan to destroy Monster High threatens to reveal her real identity, Clawdeen must learn to embrace her true monster heart and find a way to save the day.

The film stars Miia Harris (“Just Beyond “) as Clawdeen Wolf; Ceci Balagot (“Dispatches from Elsewhere”) as Frankie Stein; Nayah Damasen (“Grey’s Anatomy”) as Draculaura.
