Official Trailer for Netflix’s ‘Resident Evil’ Series Arrives During Geeked Week

Last month, Netflix released not one but two teaser trailers for its new live-action “Resident Evil” series. On Monday, as part of day one of Geeked Week, a weeklong virtual celebration of all things genre at Netflix, the streaming service released the first official trailer for the new series.

The new trailer expands on the stories highlighted in the first two teasers, including Umbrella Corporation and its hand in the fall of civilization and the death of the sister of the show’s main protagonist Jade Wesker.

“Resident Evil,” tells an all-new story based on the legendary video game franchise and takes place nearly three decades after the discovery of the T-virus. In it, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and mind-shattering creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, her father’s chilling connections to the sinister Umbrella Corporation, and mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.

The new series looks chock full of monsters, action, and of course, those infected by the T-virus. Netflix’s “Resident Evil” will arrive on the streaming platform on July 14.

The series stars Lance Reddick (“John Wick”) as Albert Wesker, along with Ella Balinska (“Charlie’s Angles”), Tamara Smart (“A Babysitters Guide to Monster Hunting”), Siena Agudong (“No Good Nick”), Adeline Rudolph (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), and Paola Nuñez (“Bad Boys for Life”).
