Oh D-D-D-Dear: Official Trailer Arrives for ‘Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey’

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Winnie the Pooh and his friends from the 100 Acre Wood were getting a horror movie. On Wednesday, the official trailer for the film arrived, and it’s a blood-soaked look at the violent acts a now feral Pooh and Piglet carry out after being abandoned by Christopher Robin years earlier.

Directed by Rhys Waterfield, “Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey” tells the story of what happens when Pooh (Craig David Dowsett) and Piglet (Chris Cordell) go wild after years of being left alone in the 100 Acre Wood. From the trailer, we learn that Eeyore is dead, and Pooh and Piglet are now ravenous killers who first seek revenge on Christopher Robin (Nikolai Leon) and his soon-to-be wife Mary (Paula Coiz) before terrorizing a house full of women staying at a nearby house.

The ability to turn the wholesome, loveable characters created by A.A. Milne and made popular by Disney became possible thanks to Milne’s novel “Winnie-the-Pooh” entering the public domain in the U.S. earlier this year. And if you’re wondering why only a few of our friends from the 100 Acre Wood make an appearance in this film, its because many of the other characters, like Tigger, didn’t appear until future works, which are not yet in the public domain.

“Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey” is being produced by Waterfield with Scott Jeffrey via their studio Jagged Edge Productions. ITN Studios will distribute the film, which is set to be released on DVD and VOD later this year.
