In the September developer update for Overwatch, Jeff Kaplan confirmed that the annual Overwatch Halloween Terror Event was coming this month. While details were minimal at the time he did share that maps that hadn’t previously gotten a spooky overlay would be getting one for 2018 and he also announced that in terms of new skins Junkenstein’s Monster would finally be getting a bride, though he didn’t announce who. Yesterday, Overwatch announced the dates for this year’s event and a small teaser video with it suggests what one of the maps are that will get a spooky overlay.
There’s a rumor among explorers
About a monolithic lair
Home to terrifying horrors

Overwatch Halloween Terror 2018 will take place from October 9 – October 31 and based on the teaser it appears that the Château Guillard map will be one of the locations that will get a new spooky overlay. Kaplan said in the developer update that new game modes wouldn’t be coming to the event, so its unclear if this is just a spooky cosmetic update for the map or if Blizzard has something else up their sleeve.
This is one of my favorite gaming events of the year, so you know where you’ll find me during some of my free time later this month. And feel free to look me up if you’re playing, I’m AllHallowsGeek on Xbox as well!
