Papa John’s ‘Jack’ Campaign Returns for Halloween Bringing with it New AR ‘Tricks’

Papa John’s is treating its customers to new AR tricks this Halloween with the re-release of its successful Jack campaign, featuring the iconic Jack O’Lantern shaped pizza and eighties horror film parody series.

Jack was first let out of Papa John’s pizza boxes last year as part of the release of its successful 80’s horror parody short film. The film was created by YouTube horror creators SKYCORP and features a posthumous appearance from horror legend Vincent Price, whose blood-curdling laugh can be heard in the film.

As part of this year’s promotion, customers can attack Jack with pots of garlic dipping sauce when he appears via a new AR Instagram filter which can be activated via specially designed box topper flyers, which bring to life the brand’s Halloween character, Jack, who ‘possesses’ the pizza.

Jack is, of course, inspired by the Papa John’s Jack O’Lantern shaped pizza, which returns this Halloween season along with special garlic dipping sauce and new Trick or Treat stuffed breadsticks in select markets. A new Jack Pizza Bundle will be available from participating locations and includes the Jack O’Lantern pizza and Trick or Treat breadsticks with an added surprise. The new bundle is available to order via PapaJohns.com o the Papa John’s app.
