In 2020 I shared with you the Indiegogo campaign for “Mystery Incorporated,” a new project that looked to bring the characters of “Scooby-Doo Where Are You?” to the “Riverdale” generation. The project surpassed its goal on Indiegogo when it concluded in April of 2020 with the goal of being released that June. Unfortunately, COVID-19 had other plans. But after a nearly two-year delay, the pilot for the series has finally arrived.
The one-hour pilot titled “Welcome to Coolsville” introduces us to Fred Jones as he sets out to investigate the creature who murdered his parents. Determined to avenge their deaths and uncover the truth, he crosses paths with resident skeptic Velma Dinkley, and the two must form a quick bond to fight back against the evil they have accidentally unleashed.
Directed by Dante Yore, “Mystery Incorporated” stars Dade Elza, Jessica Chancellor, Chris Villain, Dayeanne Hutton, and Thor VonSchultz. You can check out the pilot below, and if you like it, an Indiegogo for a second episode has recently launched. As of this writing, the series’ second episode had raised $4,408 of its $15,000 goal.
