Pride or Die: LGBTQIA+ Pride and Horror Mashup Event Returns to Los Angeles May 25

Pride or Die, horror connects with LGBTQIA+ pride

On Saturday, May 25, 2024, Pride or Die, the blow-out celebration of LGBTQIA+ pride and horror, returns to Media Pollution in Los Angeles, CA. This free event will feature drag performances, live podcasts, food and drinks, a marketplace of LGBTQIA+ vendors, immersive art and photo ops from Media Pollution, HIV testing, voter registration, and more.

Now in its fourth year, Pride or Die will be held from 6 PM to 10:30 PM and hosted by Succubus, who will also perform a DJ set during the event. The event will host two live podcasts: iHeart Media’s “Black, Fat Femme” and “Three Brown Jotos” with special guest Satanna (“The Boulet Brother’s Dragula” Season 5). This year’s drag performance lineup will include special drag performances from Honey Ma, Major, and Ronnie Rotic. The event will also include a special performance by musical artist Me The Machine, who will perform the song “Miomantis,” composed by “Silent Hill” composer Akira Yamaoka.

Pride or Die will also host an exclusive special screening of writer/director Sade Sellers’ short film “Picture.” The short film, produced by Horror in Color, stars Danielle Jalade as Brit, an antique lover who is gifted a vintage Polaroid camera. But every flash from the camera summons a malignant demon closer to its target…her.

To RSVP for the event, visit the Pride or Die website.

Pride or Die is put on by Horror In Color, a growing community that paints the Horror genre with the colors of intersectional diversity, inclusion, and equity. The community aims to make the horror genre accessible to all, especially women, people of color, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities.
