Professional LEGO Builder Chairudo Creates Life-Size Skeletons for Popular Czech Tourist Spot

Professional LEGO builder Tomáš Kašpařík AKA “Chairudo,” has created two life-size skeletons made completely out of LEGO bricks.

The new LEGO sculptures stand just under six feet tall and are made up of approximately 16,000 LEGO bricks. Each massive LEGO sculpture took Kašpařík roughly 80 hours to build. The life-size LEGO skeletons will be part of an installation to entertain visitors at a a restaurant at Kostnice Kutná Hora. What’s even more impressive is that each skeleton is also posable. As you can see from some of the photos below:

So, why skeletons? Kostnice Kutná Hora is an underground chapel of All Saints Cemetery built in the 14th century. It is believed that at one point, 10,000 dead were buried at the cemetery. Following a war that devastated the cemetery and the location being downsized in the 15th century, it is believed a monk arranged the bones and skulls of those whose graves were abolished into pyramids inside the underground chapel. Over the years, the bones were rearranged, re-used, and repurposed in decorative ways, including the iconic chandelier that now hangs in the middle of the chapel.

The life-size LEGO skeletons are just two of a total of six skeletons that Kašpařík is building and that will appear in the nearby restaurant. Based on the image of the chapel above, I’d say these new LEGO models are quite fitting.
