On Thursday, Team17 announced “Killer Frequency,” a brand-new horror-comedy game set in a 1980s mid-American town where a serial killer is on the loose, looking to maximize their kill count. Coming to Meta Quest 2 and Steam via flat screen mode in 2022, “Killer Frequency” marks Team17’s first development foray into VR and sees players take the night shift at the local radio station and help listeners as they’re stalked by the mysterious masked killer.
This unique horror-themed radio DJ experience puts players inside an authentic 1980s radio studio where they run the show, taking control of the switchboard and playing tunes inspired by the decade using a working turntable and cassette player.
As the gruesome night unfolds, players will interact with callers through a branching dialogue while listening carefully for clues and information – will you guide them to safety or broadcast their last moments live on air?
“Killer Frequency” is being developed internally by Team17 and is expected to be released sometime later this year. To stay up to date on game developments, wishlist the game on Steam, like the game on Facebook, or follow on Twitter.
