‘Resident Evil 3’ Remake Confirmed, Set for 2020 Release


Yesterday, Capcom confirmed the release of the rumored “Resident Evil 3” remake during Sony’s PlayStation State of Play presentation.

The modern console remake of 1999’s “Resident Evil 3: Nemesis” is set to hit PlayStation 4 consoles on April 3, 2020 and reimagines the game in a way that only a modern console can. Retelling the classic story of Jill Valentine as she fights to escape the Nemesis with a level of detail and fidelity that can only now be realized with current technology.

As a bonus, Capcom also announced that the game will be bundled with the four-versus-one online multiplayer game “Resident Evil Resistance.”

Set in the world of Resident Evil, “Resident Evil Resistance” is an online survival horror game where players can play as a Mastermind or one of four Survivors. As the Mastermind its your job to prevent the survivors from escaping by placing traps or unleashing vicious monsters. As a survivor, your goal is to work together using each character’s unique skills to escape the Umbrella facility before time runs out.

“Resident Evil 3” is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC. PS4 and Xbox One will each have Collector’s Editions of the game available that include an 11-inch Jill Valentine figure, art book, digital soundtrack, and a double-sided map of Raccoon City featuring maps of the city before and after the zombie outbreak along with a physical copy of the game.

Fans who pre-order the game will get a pre-order bonus that includes a Jill and Carlos Costume Pack with character costumes inspired by the character designs in the original 1999 classic.
