Over the weekend, “SAW” cast and filmmakers Leigh Whannell, Cary Elwes, Tobin Bell, Oren Koules, and Mark Burg were on hand at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles to introduce a special screening of “SAW: Unrated.” The film played to a sold-out crowd, and now theater-goers across the U.S. can also catch the movie on the big screen courtesy of Fathom Events.
On October 20 and 23, “SAW: Unrated” will be released nationwide in theaters in celebration of the film’s 20th anniversary. While the unrated version of “SAW” has been available to watch at home via digital and physical releases, this is a rare opportunity to catch the film in a theater.
The screenings will be accompanied by exclusive bonus content featuring actor Tobin Bell, discussing the phenomenon ofโฏ “SAW” โฏfandom and his iconic performance as John Kramer.
“SAW” premiered in October 2004 and spawned an iconic billion-dollar franchise with 10 films. It follows two men who awaken in a dilapidated bathroom, chained to pipes. They soon realize they are victims of a twisted game orchestrated by serial killer John Kramer. To survive, they must play along in Kramer’s series of deadly tests and games. What Kramer offers the lucky ones who survive his fiendishly clever traps is the most precious of gifts: gratitude for being among the living.
