Publisher tinyBuild and developer Scythe Dev Team have revealed the horrifically blood-pumping immersive VR experience, “Return to Northbury Grove,” available now on Steam for free.
The free-to-play Halloween surprise expands on the universe of the 2019 first-person horror/survival horror game “Northbury Grove,” which drew inspiration from cult classic horror movies from the ’70s and ’80s. In this latest chapter, players take on the role of Liam Murphy, an aspiring actor determined to land the role of a lifetime at the infamous Rock the Warehouse (RTW) music festival.
Utilizing groundbreaking VR technology, this game transports you to the eerie Specter Forest and chillingly gruesome Mountain Ridge Orchards kill-house. What should be an idyllic weekend camping with friends, watching musical performances, and acing acting auditions to secure the role of a beloved “Barnyard Buds” character turns into a nightmarish fight for survival against the infamous Spector Forest Slasher.
The haunting new VR horror experience lets players experience tactile, fully physics-based gameplay, chilling spatial audio, unpredictable and adaptable AI, and a bone-chilling atmosphere.
If you’re unfamiliar with the “Northbury Grove” games, you can get the one that started it all as a “name your own price” download from the Scythe Dev Team website.
