Yesterday, IGN dropped a huge surprise for fans of the Alien franchise, and more specifically the 2014 game “Alien: Isolation.” The video game news site announced that today, at 9 AM PST they would be releasing an exclusive “Alien: Isolation” seven-part digital series.
According to IGN, the new series from 20th Century Fox will expand on the tale of Amanda Ripley by editing together cutscenes and re-shot first-person scenes from the “Alien: Isolation” game as well as newly rendered scenes, which “creates a new animation experience to add additionally (sic) layers to the story of Ellen Ripley’s daughter.”

The digital series debut comes on the heels of the release of the mobile game “Alien: Blackout,” which was released in January and also focuses on the character of Amanda Ripley. 2019 also marks the 40th anniversary of the release of the original Alien film.
