‘Shadows of the Stokerverse’: New Collection of Stories Inspired by Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’ Announced from Scratch Comics

November 8 marked the birthday of one of horror literature’s most iconic figures, Bram Stoker, the creator of “Dracula.” In celebration of the author’s birthday, a new illustrated storybook has been announced that expands on the dark universe Stoker created using his original works.

“Shadows of the Stokerverse” was conceived by Bram Stoker’s Great Grand Nephew Dacre Stoker, custodian of the Stoker family legacy, along with comics, games, TV & film writer Chris McAuley.” This collection of 20 chilling tales weaves together characters and narratives only hinted at in “Dracula” or noted in Bram Stoker’s original manuscripts. Under the guidance of Dacre Stoker, McAuley has brought new and classic characters to life, honoring the gothic essence that defines Stoker’s work.

Each story is brought to life with breathtaking illustrations by Clint Langley, the celebrated artist known for his work on “2000AD” and “Warhammer 40K.” This 100-page volume combines captivating prose with Langley’s intense artwork, immersing readers in a visual journey through Stoker’s dark world.

“Shadows of the Stokerverse” is being published by Scratch Comics and marks the publisher’s first foray into illustrated prose. The book will be available in softcover and hardcover editions, with a digital version optimized for full-screen viewing to enhance Langley’s striking visuals.

The new book is being made available through Kickstarter. Backers can access exclusive rewards, including prints, postcards, and original artwork by Clint Langley, available only through the campaign’s limited run through November 19, 2024.
