Shudder Renews ‘The Creep Tapes’ for a Second Season

Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thriller, and the supernatural, announced this week the renewal of its found footage horror series, “The Creep Tapes.” Written and executive produced by Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice, the series will get a six-episode second season run.

“The Creep Tapes” debuted on Shudder in November 2024 as the first episodic installment of the cult-favorite “Creep” franchise. It was the most-watched Shudder show of all time on AMC+ and the most substantial November release in Shudder history, driving record subscriber growth and social media engagement.

“We made the first season of ‘The Creep Tapes’ completely independently, so we were able to truly and unabashedly get our freak on,” said Duplass. “The fact that so many of you watched it that Shudder not only asked us for more but asked us to go even further this time around? That’s justโ€ฆ really, really unsettling. And terrifically exciting.”

Season two of the Shudder Original Series will debut later this year and will continue to unravel the mind of this secluded serial killer (Duplass) who lures videographers into his world with the promise of a paid job documenting his life. Unfortunately, as the tape rolls, the killer’s questionable intentions surface with his increasingly odd behavior, and the victims will learn they may have made a deadly mistake.

“The Creep Tapes” is produced by Duplass Brothers Productions and Shudder. Series star Duplass and Patrick Brice, who also co-wrote the series, are executive producers. Brice directs all episodes. Additional Executive Producers include Mel Eslyn, Jay Duplass, and Chris Donlon. Shuli Harel is a co-executive producer.
