Spirit Halloween took to social media on Monday to tease something new. The Halloween retailer shared a link followed by the headphone, notebook, and video camera emojis with nothing more than the Spirit Halloween hashtag.
The link takes users to a page on the Spirit Halloween website titled “Experiment 1031,” where visitors are treated to a 24-second video of mostly static that features only a few moments of clarity. When actual imagery comes through, you can see what looks to be some sort of abandoned facility with a voiceover that says, “Beware,” a girl in a dress running down what appears to be a dark hallway or alley, and a video of a man from behind, and finally a first-person view of a worn door and the sound of maniacal laughter, a woman breathing heavily as if she were running, and a racing heartbeat.
The teaser seems to align closely with the themes of the Halfway to Halloween video Spirit shared in late April, which you can watch below:
Overlaying the video is a countdown timer that appears to be counting down to next Wednesday, July 20, 2022. While it’s not clear precisely what the Halloween retailer is teasing, past experience would suggest this is a countdown to this year’s new animatronic reveals.
