‘Sportal’: New First-Person Shooter Gives You an Arsenal of Sports Equipment to Battle 1950s-Style Movie Monsters

Indie developer Sleepwalking Potatoes and publisher Retrovibe have announced the upcoming sport-themed first-person shooter (FPS) “Sportal.” Blending fast-paced FPS mechanics with sports action, “Sportal” arms players with an arsenal of sports equipment, including baseball bats, hockey sticks, lacrosse nets, and more, as they face off against hordes of classic 1950s-style movie monsters in this one-of-a-kind FPS roguelike set in a 1950s America.

In “Sportal,” a trip to the cinema turns into a portal-jumping, monster-fighting adventure, where players will be transported to several movie-themed settings, where they’ll face off against hordes of monstrous creatures using enhanced sporting equipment like spiked baseballs, explosive golf balls, lightning-infused hockey pucks or razor wire bowling balls. Every piece of gear is a weapon waiting to be unleashed. The further you progress, the more powerful upgrades you can collect to refine the monster-smashing arsenal. Unlock new weapons, outfits, and perks to face even tougher challenges as you attempt to fight your way back homeโ€”if you can survive the onslaught.

Check out the game’s announcement trailer below. “Sportal” is available now to wishlist on Steam.
