Last month I shared that comedian Fred Armisen was bringing a Spanish-language half-hour comedy series titled “Los Spookys” to HBO, and this week HBO released the shows first official trailer.
The two-minute trailer is bizarre, intriguing, and I’d say just a little bit of a mind fuck, but it definitely has me excited to watch it when it premieres on June 14.
Starring Bernardo Velasco, Cassandra Ciangherotti, Ana Fabrega, Julio Torres and Fred Armisen, the series takes place in a wacky version of modern-day Mexico City where the strange and eerie are just part of daily life. The show follows a group of friends who turn their love of horror into a peculiar business called “Los Espookys,” which leverages the bizarre city to “provide horror to those who need it.”
