Earlier this year, Trick or Treat Studios opened pre-orders for a “Halloween” tabletop game, and now Stop the Killer has launched a Kickstarter for a new retro-style game based on its 1981 sequel.
“Halloween II: The Game” is the latest in Stop the Killer’s series of holiday-themed horror games, following the release of “Silent Night Deadly Night: The Game” and “My Bloody Valentine: The Game.” For one to four players, your objective is simple, but it’s not easy; Stop Michael Myers from reaching the hospital and killing Laurie Strode. The game features dice-driven gameplay where players will collect weapons, face obstacles, and draw cards, which will cause unpredictable and different outcomes each time you play. A double-sided board and three difficulty levels make it a game you’ll want to play again and again.
While there are sometimes opportunities to grab Stop The Killer games outside of their crowdfunding campaigns, they offer some pretty nice incentives to back the project. The Kickstarter version of the game will come with two exclusive expansion packs that feature eight additional player pieces and 10 additional game cards. If that weren’t enough, they’ve also outlined eight stretch goals that include various upgrades to the game’s design or additional game accessories.
There are four pledge options, but most folks will likely opt for the $59 pledge, which gets you one copy of the game, the expansions, and of course, any stretch goals the game reaches. As of this writing, the game had raised over $50,000, unlocking the first five stretch goals.
