Production is officially underway on “Stranger Things 5,” the fifth and final season of the hit Netflix series.
The series posted a photo of the cast on X Monday morning with the caption,” THIS IS A CODE RED STRANGER THINGS 5 production has officially begun!!!”

Production on the show’s final season was supposed to start last year but was postponed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Rumors of production have been circulating for the last month, with sources telling Variety in early December that production was expected to begin sometime in January.
While the core series cast is prominently featured in the photo, if you look closely, newcomer Linda Hamilton (the “Terminator” franchise) can also be seen in the back of the room. Hamilton was announced as a newcomer to the series last June during Netflix’s global fan event, Tudum.
