In a recent PREVIEWSworld interview with Stranger Things comic writer Jody Houser we learn when and where the comic story arc takes place in comparison to the Netflix series.
“It actually takes place during the first season, but everything is from Will’s perspective,” said Houser when asked about where the comic book falls into the Stranger Things timeline.  “You sort of get to see the story you didn’t get to see because Will was very much a supporting character, he was the impetus for the action, but getting to see how he survived being in the upside down for so long, that’s really the core of what the comic is.”
Houser will be the writer for all four issues of the Dark Horse Comics series with the first issue set to hit comic shops on September 26.
