‘Stranger Things’ Crossover Coming to ‘Far Cry 6’

The world of “Stranger Things” has found its way into several video games throughout the series’ run, including “Fortnite,” “Smite,” “Roblox,” and probably most notably, “Dead By Daylight.” This week Ubisoft has announced that the popular Netflix series has also found its way into “Far Cry 6” in the form of a new crossover mission.

Called “The Vanishing,” this new mission will bring a stealth-horror-survival gameplay experience to “Far Cry” players for the first time and will introduce mysterious characters and lore. In “The Vanishing,” players will enter a twisted version of Yara inspired by Stranger Things’ Upside-Down, where Dani discovers that Yarans are disappearing and no one is safe – not even Chorizo. Players will be able to explore Stranger Things-inspired locations, such as a hidden bunker and an abandoned laboratory. Dani’s mission – with new skins for a flamethrower and shotgun – is to search for Chorizo and find out what happened to the abducted Yarans.

“The Vanishing” will be available to all “Far Cry 6” players for free starting on March 24, 2022. The mission’s release coincides with the upcoming “Far Cry 6” free weekend, which will run March 24-27. It will allow new players to play and try the game, including the upcoming “Stranger Things” crossover mission on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC free of charge.
