On Monday, the ‘Stranger Things’ YouTube channel started a mysterious live stream titled the “Creel Clock Livestream.” The bizarre stream started with nearly two hours of static and ambient noise before focusing on a bizarre-looking grandfather clock with a 24-hour countdown timer, suggesting something exciting is coming from the world of “Stranger Things” on Tuesday. The stream has since been renamed to “STRANGER THINGS 4 | TRAILER DROP COUNTDOWN,” meaning this 24 hour countdown is all leading up to a new “Stranger Things 4” trailer.
During the livestream, the face of the mysterious clock appears to glitch every so often, and often billows smoke from the back. Shortly after the livestream started, the clock was been joined by a handful of individuals in white coats bearing the Hawkins National Laboratory logo who appear to be taking notes on clipboards. It also appears that on the hour, the clock has a significant glitch, and then the livestream cuts to a Hawkins National Laboratory logo before playing what appears to be a brief, albeit static-filled, clip of the upcoming season.
Fans of “Stranger Things” will likely recognize the Creel clock from its appearance in the Creel House teaser, which The Duffer Brothers shared last fall during Netflix’s TUDUM virtual event. The Duffers introduced the Creel House as a “super important location” in the upcoming fourth season of “Stranger Things.” If you missed it, you can watch the Creel House teaser trailer below:
Based on coordinates shared by the “Stranger Things” Twitter, the livestream is being broadcast from the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, CA, where the clock is currently on display. With the stream set to last for 24 hours, more strange things are bound to happen, so be sure to give it a watch and be sure to keep an eye out tomorrow when something big is bound to drop.
