On Wednesday, MTV announced the nominees for the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards, and genre, particularly genre television, is fairly well represented across the 26 categories. Among the top nominees for scripted films or television were “Stranger Things” and “The Last of Us,” both with six nominations, along with “Wednesday,” which received four.
The 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards will air on May 7 as an epic, supersized Los Angeles takeover event live from Barker Hangar starting at 8 PM ET/PT. This year’s awards show, which will be hosted by the very first Ghostface victim in the “Scream” franchise, Drew Barrymore, will air on MTV internationally in more than 170 countries.
