Super7 isn’t going to let the cancellation of San Diego Comic-Con get in the way of having some summer fun. The collectible toymaker has announced an alternate event, the “Super7 Spectacular Stay-At-Home-Ic-Con Special,” which will take place virtually over the course of four days later this month, and day three will be dedicated to all things monsters.
Kicking off on July 22, Super7 Spectacular Stay-at-home-ic-con Special will include exclusive toy releases, product reviews, guest appearances, daily giveaways and more. Each day of the event is themed and will kick off at 9am PST on Instagram and YouTube.
Day 3 of the event is titled “Monster Mix” and will feature exclusive product drops and visits from Josh Herbolsheimer and Kyle Wlodyga from Super7. An email from Super7 also alludes that at least one of the product drops that day will be inspired by Creature from the Black Lagoon.
In recent years, Super7 has hosted its Boodega pop-up event at their San Diego store, which housed a collection of Universal Monsters product exclusives. My hunch is that the reveals on the 24th would be the horror/Halloween themed products that would have made their debut at this year’s event.
