The Winchester Mystery House is a unique creation on its own, but over the years there have been some even more creative representations of the iconic residence. Last year, baker and artist Christine McConnell recreated the mansion using 500 pounds of gingerbread and next month fans of the bizarre abode will be able to check out a replica of the mansion created entirely out of LEGO. The creation will be part of MINILAND® at the all-new Bay Area LEGOLAND® Discovery Center, which is set to open in Milpitas, CA on April 2.
A signature feature of every LEGOLAND® Discovery Center, MINILAND® is inspired by the local landmarks of each city in which they are built and is a unique celebration of the surrounding community. The Winchester Mystery House came in first when more than 2,000 people in the area voted for their favorite buildings and landmarks last November.
The LEGO model of the architectural wonder that belonged to Sarah Winchester, the heiress of the Winchester® Repeating Arms fortune, has been built using over 7,500 LEGO bricks and took over 200 hours to build.
Tomorrow, at 10:30 AM, the LEGOLAND® Discovery Center and Winchester Mystery House will be unveiling the massive LEGO brick creation on the Front Gardens at the Winchester Mystery House. This will be your only chance to see this incredible creation before it makes its debut at the grand opening of the Bay Area LEGOLAND® Discovery Center next month.
