Last month Playmobil released the first few pieces from its new Scooby-Doo line, but it turns out there is plenty more where that came from. The initial release included the Mystery Machine, Scooby and Shaggy with a ghost, and of course the first series of Scooby-Doo mystery figures. But at Toy Fair New York 2020, Playmobil actually showcased six additional playsets that hadn’t previously been revealed.
Adventure in the Mystery Mansion
The first new playset in the series is the biggest and the most exciting, it’s Scooby-Doo Adventure in the Mystery Mansion. This massive, dual-level, 360-degree playset comes with four figures, including Fred, Daphne, a detective Scooby and a Vampire.
The playset includes a number of exciting features including trap doors, secret passageways, a hologram feature that lets you use your cell phone to creat create a pepper’s ghost effect that makes it look like bats, or ghostly books are flying around inside the mansion.
The green coffin sitting outside of the mansion is used to trigger eight different spooky sound effects and also includes an illumination feature to enhance your play experience.
Adventure in the Cemetery
Scooby-Doo Adventure in the Cemetery doesn’t necessarily have any identifiable features that ties it to a specific episode, however, the villain in the set appears to be inspired by Alice May the villain in the “Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated” episode, “The Legend of Alice May.”
The set comes with a dapper-looking Scooby-Doo in a top hat, Fred, Daphne, and the Alice May-like figure.
Dinner with Shaggy
The Scooby-Doo Dinner with Shaggy set appears to feature Scooby and Shaggy doing what they do best: Eating. The set appears to come with a variety of foods for the duo to munch on including french fries, sausages, pizza, canned dog food and more. At the core of the set is a dining table with candelabra and the set features a Scooby-Doo figure in a chef’s hat.
Adventure in the Wild West
The next set showcased at Toy Fair was Scooby-Doo Adventure in the Wild West, a playset that appears to be inspired by the 2017 direct to DVD Scooby-Doo movie Scooby-Doo! Shaggy’s Showdown. The playset features Shaggy and Scooby in their cowboy attire, a stagecoach with two horses, and the ghostly cowboy, Dapper Danon and his horse.
Adventure in Egypt
Scooby-Doo Adventure in Egypt appears to be a playset inspired by the 2005 Scooby-Doo movie, Scooby-Doo! in Where’s My Mummy? The set comes with a facade of a mummy’s tomb along with Scooby dressed as a Pharoah, Shaggy in Egyptian attire, two mummy figures, and a number of accessories.
Adventure in the Witch’s Cauldron
The last new playset to be showcased at Toy Fair New York 2020 was Scooby-Doo! Adventure in the Witch’s Cauldron. This set appears to be inspired by the classic Scooby-Doo episode “The Ozard Witch Switch.”
At the heart of the playset is a giant light-up cauldron with spellbook perched nearby on a stump. The figures in this playset include Scooby-Doo in a witch’s hat, Velma, and the ghost of Witch McCoy.
The six additional Scooby-Doo playsets from Playmobil are scheduled to be released this August.
