This fall, author Jeff C. Carter will release his 182-page love letter to Halloween titled “We Bleed Orange & Black – 31 Fun-sized Tales for Halloween.” His collection of stories is a spooktacular grab bag of horror, whimsy, and holiday cheer presented in a wide variety of formats.
Carter created this unique collection of Halloween tales to lift the spirits of those of us who bleed orange and black and are starting to sense the impact this year’s pandemic will have on our favorite holiday. It’s his hope, that these 31 stories will “light a fire in the pumpkin of every true believer.”
“We Bleed Orange & Black” harvests all the joys and terrors of the best night of the year. A twisted faerie finds a lost child, a teenage werewolf sneaks out during a full moon, and a legion of monsters begins the downfall of man. “We Bleed Orange & Black” explores Halloween from Appalachia to the Arctic Circle and journeys from the Old West to Mars.
Though aimed at adults, the book contains 10 kid-friendly stories, which Carter highlights in a special index at the front of the book—making it easy for readers to find more family-friendly reads.
