Three New Scare Zones Announced for Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights

Following several exciting Halloween Horror Nights announcements made at Midsummer Scream, including the unveiling of the new scare zone Luchadores Monstruosos, Universal Studios Hollywood has announced three more scare zones coming to the event in 2024: Murder of Crowz, Chainsaw Punkz, and Skull Lordz. (They’ve also shown John Murdy and team’s affinity for the letter “z”)

Murder of Crowz

Halloween Horror Nights Creative Director John Murdy teased Murder of Crowz on Sunday when he “accidentally” left a slide in his Midsummer Scream presentation showing off the sculpt for the Mama Crow character. Which you can see below:

Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood didn’t officially announce the new scare zone until Monday. In Murder of Crowz you find yourself in a massive crow’s next where the fearsome flock has descended upon you to pick your bones clean.

Chainsaw Punkz

On Wednesday, Halloween Horror Nights announced a second scare zone with Chainsaw Punkz. This was another scare zone that was “accidentally” teased during Murdy’s Midsummer Scream presentation when another slide flashed on the screen showing a makeover of the Sweet Licks ice cream van and a character dressed like a punk rocker holding a chainsaw. The van appeared in the haunted house Clowns 3D and was first used as the ice cream van in the 2009 film “Land of the Lost.”

Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood describes the Chainsaw Punkz scare zone as follows:

Get revved up for your night of terror as soon as you enter. Chainsaw-wielding punk rockers with masks and mohawks will close in on you.

Skull Lordz

Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood announced Skull Lordz on Friday and describes the scare zone as follows:

All hail the royal court of the undead, where gothic kings and queens reign. Beware! Cross into their spectral kingdom at your own peril.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood begins Thursday, September 5, and runs on select nights through Sunday, November 3. This year, guests will encounter eight all-new haunted houses, an onslaught of sinister scare zones, and the iconic Terror Tram.
