“Twilight” first took the world by storm when the novel hit bookshelves in 2005. It and its subsequent novels sold over 160 million copies worldwide. Following its success, the series was turned into a film franchise that told the story of the four core books over the span of five films. The series was a box office hit, generating over $3.3 billion worldwide and shooting actors like Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner into stardom. Now, over a decade since the final film in the franchise, one of the locations and some of the film’s characters are being turned into an official LEGO brick set.
Twilight: The Cullen House
Submitted by Fan Designer Nick Micheels, the brick set is being developed thanks to the LEGO Ideas program, which allows LEGO builders to submit their designs to be considered for actual products. Micheels submission of The Cullen House reached the required 10,000 votes for consideration between early January 2023 and early May 2023 and was recently selected as one of seven fan creations to be developed into an actual LEGO product.
Micheels design captures the unique architecture of the Cullen’s residence from the films. Made from nearly 3,000 LEGO bricks, the design features several easter eggs for Twilight fans to appreciate, including a baseball bat and glove in the garage for playing vampire baseball and minifigures of Edward, Bella, Jacob, and Carlisle. The set even comes with a brick-built werewolf. “You can transform the Jacob minifig by quickly throwing him to the side and pretending that he shape-shifted before your very eyes!”
A release window has not been announced, and a final design is still being developed, but “Twilight Saga” fans can look forward to their very own LEGO model sometime in the near future.
Fun fact: The “Twilight” series launched this author’s first foray into major entertainment reporting, as I co-founded the website Where Is Edward Cullen? A fansite and blog dedicated to the “Twilight” books, films, and stars.
