Developer Party for Introverts and publisher Akupara Games have released “Cabernet,” their narrative RPG. It is now available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation 4, with PlayStation 5 coming soon.
“Cabernet” is a 2D narrative RPG set in a 19th-century Eastern European-inspired world, where players play as Liza, a young vampire struggling with her morality and the supernatural world she has been pulled into.
In “Cabernet,” vampirism isn’t just power; it’s animalistic hunger, an ever-present threat waiting to consume Liza’s sense of self. Every choice balances on the seductive pull of blood that shapes her destiny. Each drop blurs the lines between predator and person, making survival not just a matter of strength but of resisting the addiction that defines her newfound existence. Players must decide whether to indulge Liza’s empathetic humanity or embrace her newfound nihilism.
Under the cover of night, players must plan their next meal and explore a hidden world of political intrigue, class conflict, and decadent corruption. Mingle among vampiric society and the humans who feed them. Uncover who can aid your new kin and whose only purpose is to be drained.
To feed, you’ll need to understand who your victims are and what they desire in order to lure them somewhere safe and secluded. A kind-hearted, alcoholic coachman? A fraying newlywed couple? A greedy yet charming charlatan? Their lives are yours to aid or unravel.
Beyond vampirism, knowledge is power in “Cabernet.” Art, literature, history, and science skills will be your greatest weapon in a world where the cunning drain the brutal of life.
The game is a fully voiced adventure with talent that includes Brian David Gilbert (“Dropout”) and Samantha Béart (Karlach in “Baldur’s Gate III”).
“Cabernet” is now available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation.
