This week, Vertpaint Games debuted a documentary-style behind-the-scenes look at its upcoming horror adventure game, “Ritual Tides.”
This first behind-the-scenes glimpse of the game gives viewers a first look at the game’s gripping gameplay and graphical breakthroughs, that include eerily stunning landscapes and the game’s grotesque inhabitants.
Set to launch on PC in Q3 2025, followed shortly after on consoles, “Ritual Tides” will deliver near photo-realistic immersion. The game is a first-person horror set on a fictional British island, drenched with Lovecraftian terrors. The game is being developed purely by the team at Vertpaint Games, all of which are avid gamers and horror fans themselves, who are promising to set a new industry standard for quality both in terms of gripping gameplay and graphical breakthroughs.
“We’ve been developing games for clients for years and we’ve built towards this rare chance to craft our dream game and, hopefully, in some small way, disrupt the stagnating AAA space,” says James Macleod, CEO and Creative Director at Vertpaint Games.
“We want to prove to audiences that what matters is the dedication, love and respect a team has for its project and vision, and we’re crafting a game we genuinely want to play. We trademarked the name years ago and turned down big offers to chase this dream.
The game is exceedingly dark, we’re not pulling any punches. Not everyone will like what it is we’re aiming towards, and that is both to be expected and embraced.
We hope that players can instantly spot the difference between our game and one churned out just to rack up sales.
We’ve made big claims, if you’re interested in calling us out, please join our discord and get involved! We’re dedicated to sharing behind-the-scenes content and absolutely love interacting with fans of the genre, as well as gamers in general!”
