UPDATE: Shortly after this story was shared news was released that these figures have been canceled. Bloody Disgusting reports that individuals who pre-ordered the figures received emails letting them know the orders could not be fulfilled. Reports suggest the cancellation comes as a result of licensing issues around the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street Franchises.
Ever since it was first announced at Toy Fair 2019, NECA’s line of Toony Terrors figures has been growing. The line of action figures, that make your favorite horror villains look like something out of a Saturday morning cartoon, got a second wave of figures before the first was even released, and now variants of both Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees have been announced.
The new figures are inspired by the character color schemes used in the classic A Nightmare On Elm Street and Friday the 13th NES games. Check out images of the new figures shared by NECA below.
Both figures come in blister card packaging with a bonus cutout backdrop and are expected to be released this December.
