Lionsgate has released an all-new trailer for the upcoming Saw franchise reboot, Spiral: from the Book of Saw. The release comes just days after the studio announced that the upcoming film would be released a week earlier than previously announced, with a May 14, 2021 release.
The latest look at the ninth Saw film shows familiar elements from the film franchise reimagined for Sprial, including an all-new pig mask and puppet.
In Spiral the terrifying new chapter from the book of Saw, a criminal mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice. Working in the shadow of his father, an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw stars Chris Rock, Max Minghella, Marisol Nichols, and Samuel L. Jackson, and is produced by the original Saw team of Mark Burg and Oren Koules. The film also marks the return of director Darren Lynn Bousman, who directed Saw II-IV. The film was written by Josh Stolberg & Pete Goldfinger.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw is scheduled to premiere exclusively in theaters on May 14.
