AMC on Thursday released a new teaser for the upcoming 11th season of “The Walking Dead” as part of its ongoing “11 Weeks of Reveals Until Season 11.”
While the teaser is filled with familiar faces, like Norman Reedus’ Daryl, Lauren Cohan’s Maggie, Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan, and Melissa McBride’s Carol, it also introduces actor Michael James Shaw’s Mercer, who stands out for his bright red armor. The character, who also appears in “The Walking Dead” comic series, is the leader of the soldiers of The Commonwealth, a group of militiamen who made their first appearance in the extended tenth season of the show.
And while the new teaser doesn’t actually showcase any footage from the show, it definitely alludes to the epic conclusion on the horizon.
AMC will drop new reveals – photos, trailers, and more – every Thursday counting down to the Season 11 premiere. “The Walking Dead” returns Sunday, August 22 at 9 PM ET/8 PM CT.
