[WATCH] Featurette Explores New Direction for Franchise in ‘The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It’

Over the weekend, we were treated to a new clip from “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.” Now, Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new featurette that explores the film’s new direction compared to the previous “The Conjuring” films.

In the featurette, we learn that producer James Wan first conceived the direction for the third conjuring film during the production of “The Conjuring 2.” Wan explains that for the third film, he wanted the film to be more of a detective story. Director Michael Chaves adds that the new film takes the Warrens out of a haunted house and onto a journey in a film that uses the psychological thriller “Seven” as a reference point.

“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” promises to stay grounded in the lore and the feeling fans have come to love from “The Conjuring” films but tells a new story and takes the franchise in an all-new direction. Check out the featurette, which includes all-new scenes and clips below:

“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” is scheduled to premiere in theaters and on HBO Max on June 4, 2021.
