Netflix’s new trilogy of films adapted from R.L. Stine’s “Fear Street” novels kicked off last week with Friday’s debut of “Fear Street Part One: 1994” on the streaming service. The second film in the series is set to debut on Friday, July 9, 2021, and on Monday, Netflix released an official trailer for the sequel, “Fear Street Part Two: 1978.”
The second film in the trilogy picks up where “Fear Street Part One” left off with characters Deena and Josh trying to make sense of the events that unfolded on a gore-filled night in 1994 stirred up by a centuries-old witch. Can the only known survivor from the witch’s previous massacre hold the key? The teens will have to go back to the events that took place nearly two decades before find out.
Shadyside, 1978. School’s out for summer and the activities at Camp Nightwing are about to begin. But when another Shadysider is possessed with the urge to kill, the fun in the sun becomes a gruesome fight for survival.
The Fear Street trilogy tells the story of a group of teenagers who discover that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected — and that they may be the next targets. The trilogy follows the nightmare through Shadyside’s sinister history, which spans three centuries.
“Fear Street Part Two: 1978” will debut on Friday, July 9, and “Fear Street Part Three: 1666” will premiere on July 16. “Fear Street Part One: 1994” is available to stream now on Netflix.
